There is a very strong correlation between poor health outcomes and high

rates of criminal justice involvement and recidivism. This panel will look at

promising practices that help improve the health and community tenure of

individuals with behavioral conditions who currently or might otherwise have

contact with the criminal justice system. It will feature the developer of the

nation’s first mental health court as well as noted state and national proponents

of promising criminal justice diversion and re-entry approaches.
