Please join MCTAC for our upcoming NPI (National Provider Identification) number webinar on April 29th from 2-3pm, presented by Boris Vilgorin of the NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research. This webinar will focus on assisting providers in applying for their NPI number in order to bill Managed Care Organizations.
This web-based training is particularly important for HCBS providers, although all providers are welcome to join.ÌýHCBS providers must have either an NPI or MMIS number in order to bill for HARP services. ÌýAll HCBS providers are eligible for an NPI number, under the “other community behavioral health” category. ÌýGetting an NPI number is the first step in preparing to to bill managed care plans.Ìý

The most critical step for agencies to prepare for the transition to Medicaid managed care is to assess a number of strengths and identify areas that need increased capacity and attention to thrive in the new reimbursement system. MCTAC offers a readiness assessment tool for respective agency leadership and management team members to complete. The purpose of this assessment is to determine the degree to which your organization is prepared for critical changes across domains of Managed Care. MCTAC evaluates all completed survey responses and provides back to agencies aggregate readiness metrics, both on an organizational level and in comparison with other agencies across the state.
For OMH and OASAS provider agencies:
- Print out a hard copy of theÌýÌýand fill it out together with your team.
- If you have any questions or want more guidance, review the short recorded webinar that outlined the basics of provider readiness and answered frequently asked questionsÌý.
- Enter your responses into the online survey form, foundÌý.
- Analyze and assess the results and how your agency compares to the larger ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ State behavioral health provider community.
