Presenters’ BiographyÌý

Ìý

Molly Finnerty, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist and the Director of the Bureau of Evidence Based Services and Implementation Science, for the ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ State Office of Mental Health. Dr. Finnerty directs the development and implementation of PSYCKES web-based HIPAA complaint applications to support clinical decision making and quality of care. PSYCKES applications aggregate administrative data into user friendly reports for state health authorities, providers and consumers. Dr. Finnerty oversees a number of quality initiatives focusing on improving psychotropic prescribing practices, reducing medical and behavioral health readmissions for children and adults in the Medicaid program, and increasing engagement and medication adherence. PSYCKES is implemented in over 400 different settings across ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ State, and has yielded significant changes in quality measures and a return on investment in pharmacy cost savings. Dr. Finnerty is a graduate of Middlebury College and received her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine. She completed her residency at Columbia University, and completed fellowships in Public Psychiatry at Columbia, and Services Research at Cornell. She is an Associate Research Professor at ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ University, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She also teaches for the Columbia University/ ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ State Psychiatric Institute, Public Psychiatry Fellowship, and serves on the American Psychiatric Association Clinical Practice Guidelines Executive Steering Committee.

Gary Clark, LCSW, currently is the ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ City Coordinator of ACT services for the ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ State Office of Mental Health. Mr. Clark has over twenty years of experience in the Behavioral Health Field as a direct practitioner, clinical supervisor, trainer, educator, researcher and public health administrator. Gary Clark, OMH – ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ Field Office, will discuss the overall impact of the Transition Project on NYS ACT Teams.

Kara Simpson, LCSW-RÌýis a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years experience in the field of Social Service. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from Hampton University and a Masters in Social Work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University. Ìý ÌýShe excels in both collaborative and self-directed settings to deliver quality services to psychiatrically vulnerable populations using evidenced-based practices. Ms. Simpson is currently the Team Leader of the North Central Bronx Assertive Community Treatment Team.

Patricia Myrie, RN has over 15Ìýyears of experience as aÌýpsychiatric nurse.ÌýÌýShe has over ten years workingÌýwith ACT,Ìýbeginning as the registered nurse,Ìýand isÌýcurrentlyÌýthe Senior Team Leader for theÌýthree BridgeÌýACT Teams in the Bronx and Manhattan.Ìý Her passion and overall life goal is to provide and integrate quality health careÌýinto behavioral health care.Ìý Her experience with ACT has given her the aspiration, to enhance the ACT Model within the emerging health care system.ÌýÌý
