黑料正能量 Note: The alternatives conference is an annual testament to the rights and capabilities our community members demonstrate in their recovery. It is a place to learn about innovative ideas across the country and world, share strategies and initiatives with colleagues and friends, and learn greater strengths for personal rehabilitation. The Alternatives Conference and SAMHSA went under attack this year by congressional representatives who sought to dismantle funding opportunities for their survival. This will be a celebratory year for us to gather and discuss important strategies for maintaining a recovery focus in the national mental health discourse, including valuable alternatives for persons and families in crisis.

Alternatives 2014, the 28th听annual national conference organized by and for individuals with psychiatric histories, will be held at the beautiful Caribe Royale Hotel in Orlando, Florida,听October 22-26, 2014. The theme of the conference, organized by the National Mental Health Consumers鈥 Self-Help Clearinghouse and funded in part by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, is听Creating the Future: Change, Challenge, Opportunity.听Each Alternatives conference offers in-depth technical assistance on peer-delivered services and self-help/recovery methods. Beyond the exchange of knowledge and networking, Alternatives offers a rich social, supportive, and healing environment.
