Presenters will introduce the Cultural Formulation Interview (CFI), a tool designed to improve consumer-clinician communication, soon to be offered via an online module developed in partnership between the NYSPI Center of Excellence for Cultural Competence and the Center for Practice Innovations at Columbia University. This session will also feature guidelines for providers, interpreters and individuals with limited English proficiency to work together effectively in mental health settings. Finally, presenters will introduce innovative tools developed by NKI to assist behavioral healthcare providers serving multicultural populations to assess their organizational and program-level competency.
